In an exclusive interview with PINKVILLA, Akshay, Vidya, Sonakshi, Nithya got chatty as they opened up on several things including insecurities, if things are now changing for women in the industry, their low points and of course, the hilarious story behind Akshay’s character in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anoki Kahani (2002). Sharing some rib-tickling trivia with regards to the movie, Akshay revealed that his character was supposed to die in the movie according to the script but since the director couldn’t get dates of another actor for the shoot, he asked them if he can continue shooting as those days he would get per day. Akshay said, “The director then called me and my character was put in a coma and then I return and get beaten up again. So basically I got money to get beaten up. This is the movie where there are snakes and all.”
As he shared this, his co-stars couldn’t stop laughing. Vidya even suggested that all of them have to sit together and watch this movie. Moving on, the awesome foursome also discussed how the movie came together. When asked to comment on one of the statements that men are usually more insecure to work together than women, Vidya emphasized that while Mission Mangal has made it possible for five accomplished female actors to come together, it would have been a rather difficult task if there were 5 males and a female actor. Akshay agreed to it and in his usual sense of humour imitated what would have possibly happened in that case.
Lastly, Akshay also mentioned that all his co-stars in the movie are his own superheroes, his “Avengers.”
